This magnificent second piano nobile apartment is located in one of the most beautiful and important palaces on the Grand Canal in Dorsoduro close to the Accademia bridge.
The spectacular 200 sq.m grand salon can seat up to 24 for dinner and has a wonderful balcony overlooking the Grand Canal with superb views of the Grand Canal and the Accademia Bridge.
The Palazzo has been recently carefully restored and great care has been taken to enhance and preserve the features of the eighteenth century interior, including the exquisite rococo and neo-classical stucco-work depicting scenes from classical mythology.
The apartment has two main huge salons, a further private dining room, six double bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a main kitchen plus second smaller kitchen. There is a further bedroom accessible from the main apartment, ideal accommodation for a nanny or au pair.
All six bedrooms have double beds (one is a French double and 2 can be also twin beds) , while the seven bathrooms are composed of 2 bathrooms with shower and bathtub, 1 bathroom with bathtub, 2 bathrooms with bathtub with shower attachment – 2 bathrooms with shower.
Please note that the mezzanine bedroom can only be accessed via the Baldacchino bedroom.
The apartment can be let with 4 bedrooms only – more information on request
In addition to wonderful paintings, the piano nobile is furnished with several choice pieces including a rare set of 18th century Venetian music chairs, and the Wagner canapes, a pair of sofas much admired (and sat upon) by Wagner during his visits to the palazzo in the 19th century.
Another highlight is a magnificent canopied bed acquired some years ago from the collection of the late Charlie de Beistegui, the flamboyant designer and collector who owned the nearby Palazzo Labia and who is still remembered for a masked ball he gave there in 1951. Le Bal Oriental, as Beistegui called his event, soon came to be known as the ‘party of the century’, a welcome highlight in the comparatively austere post-war years in Venice. This one of the most authentic and original properties available in Venice. Large central courtyard and private water gate access
Our comment: This is a high level Grand Canal property in one of the most important palaces in Venice. A complete dream
